2021 International Podcast Contest

 

The Asia Radio Desk, in collaboration with the SIGNIS Radio Desk will host the first SIGNIS International Catholic Radio Gathering , in Sri Lanka in February 2022, with the theme, “Engaging Young People to Create a Radio A dynamic that unites Asia with the rest of the World. " This international forum will unify the talent of SIGNIS Radio experts to share their experiences and learnings. One of the main objectives will be the participation of young people from all continents. We also expect the presence of official representatives of the Communication Department.

In order to promote interest with the youth, the decision was made to organize the 2021 International Podcast Contest. This contest aims to create podcasts between 1 and 3 minutes on the encyclical of Pope Francis, ” Fratelli Tutti: On Fraternidad and Social Friendship. " This is also a way of summoning the youth to read the encyclical of the Holy Father. All podcasts must be accompanied by a synopsis, in English, and must include the recommendation or approval of the president of SIGNIS in your country.

Young people from SIGNIS Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, North America and the Pacific will be invited to participate in this contest. Regardless of prize money for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, the grand prize winners will be invited to attend the International Radio Gathering in Sri Lanka in 2022. The podcasts will be broadcast on Vatican Radio.

The contest is open to young people between 18 and 35 years old. Entries for the contest are accepted until the end of June 2021.

1st place: $ 2,000 - Trip to the International meeting in Sri Lanka in February 2022

2nd place: $ 1,500

3rd place: $ 1,000

4th place: 750 US dollars

5th place: 500 US dollars
