Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- The photographer and audiovisual producer Jochy Fersobe proved not only to be an extraordinary artist of the lens, but he also has a humble and immense heart with kindness and altruistic qualities. After the arrival of Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic, the renowned photographer, both in the country and internationally, spared no effort and immediately took action, demonstrating through his social networks, his altruistic side, bringing basic food to low-income families, in order to supply their children with bread and avoid the need to leave their homes during this quarantine.

"After the success of the campaign to carry the message" I stay at home "with the support of several Dominican artists and personalities, we understood that the next step was to help people who live from day to day and get them food so they can they also stay at home, ”said Fersobe.

He continues saying: “My wife Jennifer and I after we made the video for the networks, we did the Go Fund Me and we invited Lucy Doughty to join the initiative, since she has always dedicated herself to helping and has experience for his foundation ”expressed Jochy Fersobe, who thanks to his solidarity work has raised a total of $ 37,800 dollars, impacting the lives of more than 1,400 vulnerable families in the country.

He also commented that all this has been possible thanks to the support of the public, influencers and artists who shared the message, recording videos on their networks inviting their followers to donate for this cause.

“Once we raised the funds, we coordinated to channel the aid with the Centro Cuesta Nacional and its Nacional and Jumbo supermarkets in Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Romana and Punta Cana.

We make a list of IDs by provinces of needy people, who present themselves with their ID at the local supermarket, and there they are given 1,500 pesos in coupons valid only for food, and they make their purchases themselves, ”explained Fersobe.

He said that in some cases, they allocated a number of bonds to nursing homes, children's homes and non-profit institutions, such as the Association of Scouts of the Dominican Republic and Jesuit parents, who made their purchases and distributed them in neighborhoods such as Guachupita, Los Guandules, La Zurza, La Ciénaga, La Victoria and also in neighborhoods of the city of Santiago.

Finally, Jochy says that for the moment, the most important thing is to stay together and fight this pandemic by supplying the basic needs of the most vulnerable people, regardless of how long it lasts.

“As long as we can be useful we will continue with this cause. I believe that after this we must as human beings, rethink our priorities, it was shown that nothing that we thought indispensable is useful at this time. For now, the priority is to combat this, in order to get out of this pandemic together. Right now, staying at home and helping others do it too is the only way we can stop the spread of COVID-19, ”said Fersobe.

He is immensely grateful for the support received from companies such as Grupo Rica, Paco Fish and the Centro Cuesta Nacional, who have made generous donations.

He also continues to encourage the population to enter his Instagram account @jochyfersobe and click on the link www.gofundme.com/YoMeQuedoEnCasaRD and donate what they can, since he says that no amount is small, since the important thing is help someone in this time of great need.
