This book is the result of a work that draws on different theoretical-methodological perspectives to try to account for the complexity involved in the treatment of different issues directly related to poverty in the Latin American press. All his articles are the result of a study carried out from the PoLaMe corpus, made up of journalistic texts that address poverty in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. From the analysis of the link between human rights and poverty, through the ideologies that underlie the discourses on the issue, to works produced from linguistics; This volume tries to add perspectives to analyze a phenomenon that constitutes, perhaps, the most important problem in Latin America.
