ColombiaColombia

Fundación Gabo, with the support of the Colombian Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies, maintains the free online school journalism course "Cronicando con Gabo" enabled. It can be accessed at any time.

Gabo, sitting as usual at his typewriter, is the soul of this digital corner: a school journalism platform aimed at providing guidelines and tools for telling stories , and strengthening knowledge and skills when consuming, understanding and interpreting content that the media produce for their audiences (known as media literacy). All this, from the use of digital tools in the school classroom.

Module 1: Discover

In this module, visitors will discover key topics that will guide and test them throughout the course, such as the criteria for determining what is news and what is not.

Module 2: Investigate

The 'pocket questioner' is the first thing that appears in this module, which will lead those who explore it to bring out all their talent in the search and consultation of information to carry out effective interviews, without forgetting the five key questions: what? who ?, where ?, when? and because?

Module 3: Counting

From a more practical perspective, a video and some key points, those who take the module will be able to know in more detail what a chronicle is and what is not.

Module 4: Sharing

To share what was told, nothing better than the internet and social networks. However, like all great tools, they carry great responsibility. Therefore, the great learning of this module is the proper way to use them, the latent risks and their incredible possibilities: share the stories in the digital world on platforms such as podcasts or blogs, or networks such as Instagram or Facebook.
