QUO VADIS, HUMANITAS?

INTRODUCTION

1. The recent acceleration of technological development and scientific advances has rekindled our awe at humanity's vast potential and our perception of its greatness. However, this does not diminish our unease at its fragility, as it is subject to death and disease—as the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated—and is tempted to resign itself to seemingly inevitable evils: wars and conflicts, inequalities and indifference. The undeniable ambivalence of this greatness and fragility remains.
